Filed: 6/11/15 Issued: 6/2/20 An absorbent article, comprising a liquid-permeable top sheet, a liquid-impermeable back sheet, and a liquid-absorbing absorbent body disposed between the top sheet and the back sheet, and having a lengthwise direction, a widthwise direction, and a thickness direction that are mutually orthogonal; wherein the top sheet is a nonwoven fabric with a skin side surface on which protrusions are formed; wherein the absorbent body has a through-hole penetrating through the absorbent body in the thickness direction or a recess that opens to a side of the top sheet; wherein the absorbent body has a first absorbing layer and a second absorbing layer having a maximum width which is smaller than a minimum width of the first absorbing layer; wherein the second absorbing layer is located nearer to the back sheet than the first absorbing layer; wherein the absorbent article further comprises a liquid-absorbing sheet having a liquid-permeable first sheet, a liquid-permeable second sheet, and an absorbent polymer layer disposed between the first sheet and the second sheet; wherein the liquid-absorbing sheet is disposed between the top sheet and the absorbent body; wherein the liquid-absorbing sheet does not overlap the through-hole or recess in the thickness direction; and wherein both edges of the absorbent polymer layer are located inside both edges of the first absorbing layer and outside both edges of the second absorbing layer in the widthwise direction of the absorbent article.
